deak- i think i am the only one going from this forum. i was unable to attend adam's fest due to lack of money and threats.
the bean is the best blues fest in the country if you love/play harp. there are pick-up jams during the day, big time jams after the bands are done.
i will try to stop by and say hello, but seeing the bands isnt a high priority. however, i will be able to hear you from my cabin.
and let me extend this invite to you, please come by cabin 12 before or after you play. stop by for a beverage, or snack, or short jam.
there will be a golf cart decorated red, white & blue. that is our cabin's taxi. wave her down and come on by.

btw- are you gonna have some of you customs to sell?
you could probably sell a couple at cabin 12.

in case you're interested- folks are getting to the park right now, so the party has begun for some. thursday is a very nice open mic. there will be after band jams at cabin 12. mexican dinner friday night. waffle breakfast sunday morning. various other events and seminars friday and saturday morning/afternoon.
you can find a thread at the bushman forum in the bean blossom section.

and if you are at the bean saturday by noon, it would be very cool if you found your way to hippy hill and helped judge our harp contest!!

Heya Deak,

I am less than an hour away and am trying to make it, but I am stuck with the kids while the wife is out of town and no one I can call on to watch them for a couple of days. This sucks. Had fun hanging out with you at the hill country. If I don't see you this weekend, I'll surely see you in MS.

I'll be there!!! We'll definitely say "Hey"!!! Make sure you drop by Cabin 12 - it is becoming "mission control" for "The Bean" participants.

You dogs, that is where I grew up. I was just there last week for my Dad's 90th birthday, a week earlier than we usually go up to visit. You attendee's probably know that you're going to the same place that holds the Bill Monroe Bluegrass festival. To those of you that love micro brews be sure to check out the Upland brewery's ales. You'll find them in the stores and the brewery isn't far away in Bloomington In. You just take Hy. 45 west off of Hy. 135 right into downtown Bloomington. Hy. 45 turns into 10th st. and the brewery is on 11th st. A scenic drive through the heart of southern Indiana. They have a very good kitchen too.

just to let folks know- deak rocked the stage at the bean.
he came by cabin 12 for a jam. i carted him to another jam hosted by a former member of filisko's mob (they seemed to have a nice talk), then he ended back at 12.

a very nice and energetic guy to talk with. he played harp with a kid that has down's syndrome that had entered the harmonica contest. there werent any prizes but the forum folks gave him one of our bandanas which he really liked. (i gave one to deak, also.) then we got a guitarist and the kid jamming. then deak jumped in and it was as if the kid and deak had rehearsed!
