All that drama for a stupid misunderstanding, that really sucks. I hope the two of you reconsider and don't leave this forum. You both should have discussed that in private, and I'm pretty sure you'd have come to conclusion that it was much ado about nothing, really.

Wow, Seems that this place has come down to a slap, appologize, defend and scoot forum.

You know, if we all just let cooler heads prevail and thought before we posted we could likely really achieve something great.

Instead we manage to insult (intentional or not) bicker and fight until we lose the great teachers and forum contributors.

My my my. So much drama.

@Nancy: I have no idea what post you're talking about. Did one of my moderators delete a post of yours? I certainly didn't, and wouldn't. I've known you far too long to do something like that.

@Gwood: You've violated the forum creed with malicious aforethought. (His name is "Zhin," by the way, not "Zhit," and he doesn't need to be called a punk by you or anybody else here.) Do it again and you're out. Please cool it. Reread the forum creed.

@everybody else: I haven't had time to read the rest of this thread, believe it or not: school is back in session and Dr. Gussow is scrambling to keep up. But my comments in another Big Drama thread about the baneful influence of the full moon (which is occurring as I write) hold especially true this month. Please cool it a little.

I want to thank everyone for responding to this thread. We all have our own level of what is respectful, what is tolerable, and what is not. Adam has worked harder than most of us could imagine to create and maintain this place, his lessons, get togethers, etc. My hat is off to him for that! It is his universe here to run as he sees fit. I have enjoyed my time here but my levels of what is tolerable, respectful, is different than his. That is fine. We all should follow what is in our hearts. My home remains open, my email is on, and my studio will record you for free (if you don't play too loud by my standards). Much like the old bluesmen I learned from, you will have to come a knocking on my door. I have always been on the outskirts of the music world. Living with Louisiana Red and Cool Papa has come back to me via this whole thing. They were also on the outskirts and struggled with fitting in. I have learned a lot from these men about living with dignity and respect. I never disrespecte Zhin with cursing, put downs, and anger, and never will. I also want to say my leaving is not all about Zhin, but the often times outburts of disrespect that occurs here that I was in no way involved with. That is not the way a man of dignity carries himself. To continue my journey in finding peace, and to honor of the way I was taught about being a musician, I am withdrawing from here. If I get inspired enough to learn how to create a webpage with a forum I will do so and create my own universe. Take care and please stay in touch. Walter

sorry i went off adam. i worked 13 hours yesterday, and after work, one of my employees brought up hie masa boogie amp, and his 4 10 cab to my shop last night and for the first time i got to jam.. it was fun, and after it was over i was looking forward to coming here and telling everyone about it.. but as soon as i log on, i really get the blues. one of my friends is leaving the forum.. talk about a mood killer! i probably should have gone to bed, but sometimes you just cant take it anymore without saying something.. trust me, i held my fingers in check, that was very mild for me but i guess it wasnt enough.. i havent done it before, im sure i wont do it again.. if i feel the need to do it again, you wont have to kick me out, i will leave.

thanks,

ps. sorry there is no caps zack.. holding my 9 month old and typing with one hand.. :)

in the future I hope all who exhibit themselves on the forum and ask for judgement should take the HONEST appraisal of fellow members-why would you want someone to sugarcoat their opinion of your playing-it might make you believe you have reached the summit when you are not even close

@walter

say and do what you want but you can not deny that what you are doing with this thread is an exhibition of attention seeking behavior and that's akin to what you do not like in Zhin.

A man who truly intends to leave simply leaves and says nothing more.

Personally I don't care if anyone is here because I'm happy entertaining myself with a mirror, pseudonyms and a recorder.

Yknow, not to be a dick, but I had a thought. The very first line of the forum creed states the following.

"This is a very lightly moderated forum in which registered members may freely exchange thoughts, tips, and useful insights about any and all harp-related topics. (The occasional off-topic thread is OK, and should be marked "OT," but please be sparing in this regard.)"

I don't think anyone will disagree that this is WAAAYYY off topic, and not only that, but this is probably the fourth separate thread I've seen on the same exact event.

Would I be crazy in suggesting that the moderators shouldn't allow threads like these? IMHO This is a forum for harp nerds, not conflict counseling and I'm frankly sick if seeing it being used otherwise. I think the occasional light-hearted off topic thread should be tolerated, but this whole thing is just a waste of web space.

I teach eighth graders to make good choices.
Sometimes it's not easy but we usually know what the right choice is. Like SHUT UP.
Telling yourself to Shut Up is often a good choice.
It's not an easy choice. I literally have a string around my finger to remind myself to shut up.
It almost worked this time.

If someone is pulling out, just pull out. Why start a thread? How many of us here do a professional recordeing and post it on youtube? Sure everyone is after something, that I can understand. Who you have play with or hang out with, is that suppose to mean something? This is a harp forum for us to share, its not a place for competition. Adam Gussow has given most of his time and attention for blues harp, you are posting here because of HIM.

Look into oneself first before you juge others.

In Pakistan, floods have already killed an estimated 1,500 people over the past week, and as many as four million people have been affected.

...

can you imagine the horror of drowning in mud. The shock of losing your loved one, seeing your children being carried out by the wave and knowing ther is absolurely nothing you can do?

Waltertore, Zhin, everyone else, involved: this thread is a non issue.

Shut the **!!! up and be thankfull your house and all your possessions weren't taken by a giant wave of Mud. Jeezuz, we're just talking about a silly little piece of metal in which we blow air and notes come out!
