He was a master. A few comments struck me. They're not new thoughts but here he didn't hold any punches: (What he likes) "Interesting ideas" That was certainly reflected in his playing -and demonstrated at the end of this video. (What he doesn't like) "I don’t like players who it seems like they're trying to force feed a lot of notes. That wears thin with me. (And) "I can listen to it and enjoy it for a short amount of time and then it's like, Ok, I get it". "A note played richly and beautifully is worth 1000 notes with no tone. " Well said. Then he walks the talk with a "beautiful" series of 1 draw notes that drop kick a 1000 notes straight to the circus where they belong. IMHO

I am working a lot with Mark Korpi, one of Garys guitar players and song writers-they first met in Austin,Tx. We are sorting through a lot of old material-recordings and songs written, but never published. I am working hard to keep Garys memory and sound going. As soon as we get any solid music down,I will post here. In the meantime,I will post some footage from Mark and I,along with his band,The Space Coast Playboys.
