I had a nice talk this evening with Sterling Magee, his sister Janet, and Dave on Drums.
Friday, May 20, 2011 is Sterling's 75th birthday. He, Dave, and Kevin (our "official roadie") are going to fly into Memphis and join me at the crossroads outside Oxford, Mississippi (where we met this year) for a special Satan and Adam performance at sundown. After we all play and drink, we'll caravan back to town and have the jam session at Rooster's.
Saturday, Satan and Adam will play. Our new album will be out by then, as will my solo album and Brandon Bailey's solo album. (I've invited Brandon back to HCH 2011).
Sterling will hang out all weekend and visit with y'all.
Also, Janet's husband is organizing a Magee family reunion that will join us at Foxfire Ranch to honor Sterling.
Satan and Adam at the crossroads.
More to come...........

I'm going to try to load some performance videos from this year HCH. Forgive the terrible camera work. Pisses my wife off because she gets motion sickness :) ---------- Rob
Finally posted some of my HCH 2010 vid's. Click my youtube link to get to them.
Hopefully the poor quality of the video (cameraman fault = I suck)is compensated for by the sense of what the 2010 event was like. Search the forum for better quality video posted by other members with steadier hands.
congragulations Adam! That should be a great time. I hope you video tape it. Why not hire that guy down there that does mobile recording out of his car. He has done a lot of work for my friend Jeff Konkel (broke and hungry records) capturing the old Miss. guys. If you could get great audio on that video, it would be highly marketable for sure! Barring a natural disaster, and as long as I'm still gainfully employed-I WILL make HCH '11. My wife saw how much it meant to me when I was forced to miss it this year, and has already given me her blessing. I am anxious to meet all the folks I didn't get to meet this past May(even the ones who called me from there on Harvey's phone to rub it in...). Just from listening to firsthand stories from our club members who attended, reading on this forum, and seeing the many great pics/vids from the event, I learned some lessons: 1. I am NOT camping primitive-style-and probably not at all. I'm spoiled;give me my AC and hot shower! Too friggin' hot for that, even in May.
2. I may get my own sleeping arrangements within stumbling distance of the New Orleans cabin, as I don't party as hard as my homies and need my beauty sleep. BUT, I will hang with them as long as I can.
3.I will make sure, no matter how I get there, that there is room left for a gallon jug(at least one) to return home with me...that was quality stuff.
4. We're gonna have to cook for y'all who care to join us at the cabins-be it a shrimp boil, crawfish boil, jambalaya, gumbo, maybe an etouffee', but SOMETHING'S gonna be in the pot or on the grill, and we cook for company. This was actually one of the first things brought up by one of the attendees(beltone) at our club meeting after the event. It's how we roll.
I'm already anxious for HCH 2011! ----------

@todd I was there in fact shared a table with your gang from new orleans and a thing I noticed was, unlike the blues forum, everyone got along there was a lot of happy people there possibly from the local dew from hill country
Yeah, it should be called 'harmony juice', and we need to figure out a way for forum members to absorb it into their fingertips as they type posts on here. it might lighten the mood a bit.
One thing I'm pretty happy with is the fact that our club members all get along, even though we're all from different walks of life. We have a common thread in the harmonica. I am proud to say I know and am friends with them. ----------

hey, if i had a gallon of annies southern elixir on hand at HCH? todd, some of your rules would have been nixed, hell, perhaps all but the cookout.
another chunk o truth? we all get along FAR better at HCH, or HERE for that matter, than most of us do with our own flesh and blood. Ive seen it take years to amend at the homefront. A day or two with MBH'ers? aww, were all hugs n apologies n stuff. (sniffle, sniffle...brothers dont shake hands, brothers GOTTA hug!!!) ---------- Kyzer's Travels Kyzer's Artwork
Hey gang. I shared a few minutes with Johnny Sansone last night, and he said he recorded Corn Whiskey. I told him that the song was so good, that I thought it was already recorded. He made it up on the spot. The Power of HCH. ----------
I'm seriously thinking about coming from Belgium to HCH 2011. I could spend 2 or 3 weeks in the U.S., hangin' out in New Orleans and play as much harp as I can. ---------- http://www.buddybrent.be
