I saw "Adventures in Babysitting" in the $5 bin at Wal Mart and remembered how much my kids liked it back in the 80s so I bought it for my grandaughter.
I forgot about the blues scene led by the late great Albert Collins. That is Billy Branch on harmonica. He is shown with a chromatic, but it sure sounds like a diatonic to me.
Maybe some of you know the other musicians?

Ah, 80s race politics... How I missed you.

Nice find, though. I reckon the prop master had him use a chromatic because it's bigger/more noticeable.

I can't watch it at the moment but I remember Albert Collins and Larry Burton playing guitars. I'll check it later.

Billy was also in the movie "Next Of Kin" with Patrick Swayze.

I'll check that out Joe L.

I remember watching "The Jerk" with Steve Martin a few months back. That was Brownie McGhee and Sonny Terry in overalls and straw hats at the start and end of the movie.

I'm sure other blues artists have played small parts in other movies?

In the movie Superbad, during the bar scene, you can hear Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee in the background. It's really hard to hear them though, I have no idea how I caught it the first time.
Nice to hear the blues in such mainstream movies though, maybe they'll grab other people's attention.
