I have a shure 520dx green bullet mic and although it produced that classic distorted harp sound it feedsback really easily even when the volume on my Deluxe Reverb is on 2-3. I've heard EQ pedals are good for eliminating feedback, and was wondering what pedals would be good. This Behringer looked promising: http://www.worldmusicsupply.com/Behringer-BEQ700-Bass-Guitar-7-Band-Graphic-Equalizer-Effects-Pedal.html

A Lone Wolf Harp Tone+ pedal is super handy. I use it with a Shure 520DX. It helps to tame some of the brightness of that microphone. It can also be used to manage feedback.

The harp tone looks really nice, but I don't know if I want to spend that much. I'm actually a guitarist that plays a little blues harp on the side. Normally I use an attenuator that helps with the feedback, but I've been invited to play "Rats in the Cellar" with a rock band. As much as I wish I could use the attenuator, both guitarists in that band use 5150 combos which exceed 60 watts, while I use a Deluxe Reverb that's 22.

On a semi unrelated topic, I was wondering if anyone has heard or Realistic Highball 2 mics. My grandpa bought a couple from radio shack in the 70s.

The problem is the gain of your amp, not the mic. A 520DX is pretty average in terms of tendency to feed back. But whenever anyone tells me they're getting feedback at 2-3 on their amp, I know that they haven't retubed it from factory "for guitar" settings. Lower the gain with tube swaps you'll be happy you did.
From left to right, looking at the back of the amp, the 3 right most tubes are your preamp section. Change from 12AX7 12AX7 12AX7 to 12AU7 12AU7 12AX7.
If I was in the room after you did that, you'd want to kiss me. I'm pretty sure I'm glad I won't be in the room.
P.S. - If your guitar players use their 60 watts, you won't be able to compete, period. You will need to mic the amp. Tell them to turn the F#$% down if they want harp in the band. ---------- /Greg

Greg wrote : "From left to right, looking at the back of the amp, the 3 right most tubes are your preamp section. Change from 12AX7 12AX7 12AX7 to 12AU7 12AU7 12AX7." You might be thinking of a Blues Deluxe Greg?
In a Deluxe Reverb the 3 farthest right preamp tubes are (from R to L, V1 - V3)) V1-12AX7 V2-12AX7 V3-12AT7. The farthest Right tube only affects the Normal channel, the 2nd from right only affects the Reverb channel, 3rd from right is the reverb driver tube & affects the wet signal, I wouldn't recommend a 12AX7 here.
As the tolex Fenders are arranged with each preamp tube triode in series in the circuit (e.g. V1a then v1b, or V2a then V2b) subbing to a 12AU7 will dramatically cut the gain to about 4% of "stock", still worth a try but also try the higher mu tubes in V1 & V2 such as 12AY7/12AT7/5751. You can lose puch & dynamics if you go too low on the mu.
V6 is the 12AT7 phase inverter (next to the power tubes), in tolex circuits this can be a useful tube to swap to a lower gain type like 12AU7/12AY7, or even a 12DW7. If you use the reverb channel also try a lower mu tube in V4 (12AX7 reverb recovery/mix).
Power tube bias also affects the gain of the amp, if you have higher voltage handling 6V6 tubes like EH/JJ you might try backing off plate current to around 20mA per tube. This will push up plate voltage beyond what is wise with a NOS 6V6 (425vdc max), or try cool bias in conjuction with a 5Y3 rectifier if any doubts. If you don't know what I'm talking about here, go to a tech, a rebias should be pretty much the minimum bench fee/labour charge if you supply the tubes.
With stock tubes 2-3 on a Deluxe Reverb volume pot is pretty typical before feedback.
