really now im interested in finding out more of this tuning,im wanting to set up a slide guitar and learn some slide,i dont know much about slide except you can use open tuning's that sound cool,i did some searching and saw something about a 4 string cigar box guitar, for slide .I wonder if thats similar to what Seasick steve is using?but with 3 strings
i read on wikipedia that he uses 3 string tuned to G-G-B with the E string put where the A is normally the D To the G and G to B Im fixing to set my acoustic up play around with it,I really like his style just needs some harp:-) But it said he was born in 1941 that would make him 69 if hes 69 he dont look it.

Very, Very cool! I have an Epiphone Dot that I don't use very much--I might have to play with that a bit after I get back from blues week--which is next week. . . ----------
i was going to set my acoustic up ,but decided to make a cigar box guitar,I have everything here needed for the project,I got some plans off the net.im going to do a 2 stringer.I firgure it would be easier than 3 to build and learn.I kinda excited cause i was wanting a slide setup, but didnt want to have my only guitar setup just slide,What better than a Cigar box guitar for doing slide anyways:-)
I did it i built my 1st cigar box guitar, from some old tuners i had from way back, and a cigar box, used a egg-static mic opened up for the inside of the guitar,it tunes and plays,I only put 2 strings on it and made a 2 stringer chugger, but i might later on add a 3rd to allow for more tones.Cigar box nation.com had the plans and it wasnt that hard, and it has a cooool delta blues sound, ill post some pics ans record something in a few days.or sooner i feel like chugging :-)
I'm just givin this a bump cause i just learned about seasick steve after watching this. this dude is one cool cat.
thanks hobo
everytime I lsten to it I think to myself "this cat has more musicality in his baby toe then all that "pitch corrected", over produced crap we hear every day today".
