Hi Big Nancy-- now I've seen it, thank you, I loved it.
Keep posting, don't go away, 'cuz you be doin' it, sister. By that I mean, you be playing, not just talking about it. I just watched Dinky Town Blues with Big Dave Simpson, and Reconsider Me, with Sonny Rhodes, on YouTube. Both had you on harp. Good stuff. I like your playing.
Here's a dated joke, indulge me.
Q. What did the firefly say to her girlfriend? A. You glow girl!
I'd love to see some of the arrangements of the old harmonica bands. I fear that the art of arranging for ensembles may be almost a lost art now. ----------
After listening to them, you realize that they were often providing the awesome music in those old black and white cartoons they used to show between movies. ---------- Shane
Thanks for the kind word Wolf. I very much appreciate hearing from you. As for the glow... I am from deep in the heart of New Jersey... we all glow in Jersey... its the proximity to Three Mile Island! As for Cowboys and bondage.. I think that is a bit redundant... what with the whole ropes and chaps thing! I don't need the chorus girls.. but suit yourself!
I'm just glad that some of you enjoyed the rootin tootin swingin harmonikees and that the Cappy Berra thing wasn't lost on anyone!
Thanks for hipping me to that Sonny Rhodes video... I not the greatest but will post it to my profile.
Have good fun this weekend everyone! ----------

I think that the whole harmonica band 'thing' came out of a 'performers' strike years ago in the USA. Strangely enough the harmonica was the way out of this strike because it was not recognised, and hence the emergence of lots of harmonica bands in short order.
The one thing I really loved about it was that it had something most harp players tend to lack, and that's musical discipline and that is absolutely necessary to pull that off. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte
