I bought a hooter for my bicycle today, you know the sort of thing? Tin trumpet shape with a rubber bulb on the end. Well, I took it to bits and found it had reeds in it which makes the noises when the bulb is squeezed and then released.
Guess what I did? Yeah, I embossed them, took the arc out and tuned them to D and F. I've got the loudest coolest blues hooter in the neighbourhood now and I can give a little draw 4 and 5 warble when I'm riding along. Next thing is to learn how to bend the sucker. Any ideas.
If you want a custom hooter, come to tookatooka. Waa Waa Waa!
Alright. But just don't hit me in the face.

How about over blow? Vibrato?
Will you custom tune my old duck and goose calls? Honk, honk!

Valving seems like the next step ... if it would be of benefit based on the design ... or additional reeds like in a tremelo ...

That's pretty cool you could make a blaster horn.

Take some solder and tune that D down to low F. Then, you will have an octave horn. Or take some solder and tune that F down to C. Then, you have a double-stop, two and five draw 7th horn for blues in D. I like the idea of the double-stop 7th horn better. Tune the C about 20 - 30 cents flat. Then, it should scream (queue heated discussion on how flat that 5 draw part of horn should be) ----------
