thanks Hobostubs! We all start out simple, and then the flashy stuff works its way in over time in small incriments. I believe that is pretty normal. What I don't see much of is quality players breaking it down to simple stuff that is seeped with all that experience laid on it. the flash card always has to work its way in somewhere in the song and it wrecks it for me. When I am playing simple stuff like this song, to get flashy wrecks the whole thing. The journey I am on is about simple riffs and beats that paint pictures, vs. just spewing notes. Is this the ego at work instead of the artist, or is it just the way I am traveling the musical highways?? Walter

PS This song is no different than the ones you are playing. I sounded just like you starting out. It is just the years of playing adds a different dimension to it.
