Hi everyone,

I would like to find a backing track for this song:

I know it's a 12 bar blues, but I'm not familiar with the groove/rhythm names. How would you call this?

Thanks in advance!

There is a reason I always tell students to study bass players

so what kind of groove is Mellow Down Easy usually employ?

Knowing different rhythms is imperative to becoming a good musician even if you only play blues. You can't just go to a jam and call a blues. That's amateur jammer BS.

Tell them what groove you want. You can tell the drummer you want a drum and bass grove and then tell the bassist that you want a medium tempo Tumbao line. Now that's some hip shit.

You can do other cool stuff. Call an Afro cuban groove and tell the drummer to play in 6/4 and tell the bassist to play in 4/4. More hip shit!

Stay away from harmonica players if you want to be hip. That's my two cents.

I know absolutely nothing about how different grooves and rhythms are called. Definitely something I have to start focussing on...

Is there some good study material somewhere? (Besides bass player or drum lessons)
