Hendrik Meurkens, who is a well known jazz chromatic harmonica player, is also a fantastic jazz vibraphone player. If you haven't seen any amazing xylophone or vibraphone players, I wouldn't knock it, those guys/gals can do some pretty incredible stuff.

I've been playing with some musicians who occasionally use a vibes player who is really good. I mean, it ain't Chicago blues, but this kid is terrific on the vibes--excellent player and can play just about any material including blues. Always a good musical experience when he's at the gig! I'd never played with vibes before, but I really enjoy playing with this guy.
