I dunno. I suppose?
I'm attempting to stuff my iPod with as much stuff as I can before I leave. It occurred to me that there is some very good stuff on YouTube. I'd like to get some of it in there. Not video, audio.

I don't know how to strip the video, but you can use something called keep vid http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/keepvid/ to save youtube videos. Then add them to iTunes. ---------- -Edward Tomaine YouTube

If you only want audio - your best bet is a program that records the output of your soundcard. It'll depend on what operating system you use. I can recommend a mac one called audiohijack pro (the freeware version is limited to 10 minute long recordings, but so is youtube so it's fine). I guess the PC guys will know of an equivalent if that's what you need.

Buzadero, try this website:
http://www.youtube-mp3.org/
Works for me. You copy and paste the URL of the youtube vid you want and it converts it to mp3 and then you download it to your computer. There are several sites that do this for you but this is my favourite, it doesn't throw adverts at you and you don't need to create an account.
Recommended.

Audacity works quite well for this also.
It also lets you edit the results.

Thanks! I didn't know about that site, but that sounds like a far simpler way of doing it!

As VLUN said, Audio Hijack Pro is great for Mac. And if you run Firefox there are a ton of add-ons (i.e. Easy Youtube Video Downloader) that will rip video to any format you want (i.e. MP4) and then you can drag and drop them onto your iPod.

I use a couple of add-on's for FireFox. The first is Download Helper that download's Flash video's from UTube. Then another download helper, actually it's an extension, called Freecorder that will record anything your PC is playing to an MP3 file that will play on your iPod. You wouldn't necessarily have to download the file but I do so it can be played back with a Flash player to make sure its complete.

1> go find the YT you want to convert--get it playing.
2> copy the URL (from the address bar at the top of your browser by right-clicking on it--then click on 'copy'
3> Click here
4> paste the URL into the box after 'Video URL'
5> click the 'convert button
6> have another beer--it takes a while.
7> download the mp3 that was created for you.
If you don't like this solution, just do a google on "you tube conversions" and you'll find about three million other ways to do it. . . ----------
