After watching KCBlues video and asking him about his cool amp,I googled it.

Those are about the most gorgeous amps on the planet! I think I'm in love! Curse you KC for rekindling my GAS! :)

The late great Gary Primich used a Vero amp. I think Kurt Crandall has one as well.

TUCKSTER -
Sorry for the GAS! Funny story about that amp... I met my wife 4 years ago when I lived and played in CHicago... At that time I used a 1962 Fender COncert... I just LOVED that amp. Before leaving Chicago I wanted to propose but I could not afford an engagement ring. The only thing of value that I owned? You guessed it - the Fender Concert...
My wife knew I loved that amp and was so upset when she found out that I sold it to pay for her ring... in fact, she bought me the VERO as a wedding gift... I actually had tried one of their amps while I still lived in CHI - the owners brought one down for one of my HOB gigs so I knew that it could sound good... After hearing all the rave reviews about SONNY JR's I may have made the wrong decision - that said, I at least wanted to have tried an amp before spending $$$ - not always easy to do with boutique amps... AS I have mentioned in previous posts, I have swapped tubes (5751 preamp and a 5r4 rectifier) and speakers (2 alnicos and two hemp coned ceramics).. The result is a pretty decent sound for diatonic and chromatic...
Oh yeah.. and it is beautiful!
Kurt
P.S. I worked out a deal with the company - I would be lying if I told you that I got the amp for free but I am an endorsee of sorts and did work out a deal... This actually works out for them because as you can imagine their target market is NOT gigging musicians.. more like wealthy docs and lawyers who can afford it and whose wives will let them keep it in the living room!!!
Everywhere I play people approach me and want to know about the amp...

Thanks,Kurt. Nice story. I wouldn't dream of gigging out with that amp. Well, maybe a wedding or higher class gig,but certainly not the seedy bars I usually play. I'd also have to hit the lottery.

They look beautiful, but I agree with Tuckster - I'd be terrified of scratching the duco finish on one of those puppies.
