im quite certain that the line 6 pocket pod is an effects 'pedal' for guitarists to digitally 'remake' guitar sounds made famous by certain tunes, not normally achieved with just an amplifier... ---------- Kyzer's Travels Kyzer's Artwork

The nice thing about units like the POD or the Behringer V-Amp is that there's a headphone jack so that you can mess around with the amplified sound without bothering the neighbors with the volume. What those pedals were actual designed for was to simulate the sounds of different amps and cabinets with all different effects, but instead of having to mic the amp, with these units, you record directly into the board so there's no worries about bleeding into other tracks, etc., typical of a lot of recording sessions, especially if you use amps in a recording session louder than a Fender Champ.
Some players, like Charlie Musselwhite, have kept one on hand so that if they don't have an amp they'd like available, they can hook these things up to the PA and get largely the same thing.
Magic Dick recorded his harp playing thru one on one of his recording sessions for the Jay Geils Bluestime thing he was doing some years ago. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

Do these guitar fx boxes work for harp and mic? I think they do a pretty good job for guitar but how audibly accepted are they for harmonica tone?
