As you can see from some of the threads, I have recently been thinking about the blues in many perspectives. If you set away the marketing talk and really think about what the blues means for YOU, what would be the inner core that moves you?

For me, it is the simplicity and feeling I find from many of the blues songs. When you listen to a good blues artist, you can feel something that really moves you. Some feeling you can't really grip, but it's there. There is such an expression involved that you can't find from other musical styles. (And here I speak of blues as a wide concept, not just the "Chicago blues" or other established norms.) Also the ability to concentrate universal stories in a few lines of text and few chords is something where the blues has expertize over other forms of music I know of.

blues just resonates inside me. from an early age i was taken by the emotion and honesty i was hearing on a.m. radio in the early 60's on up. guitar and harp and piano all emulating a tortured voice. a reflection of what was truly inside a person, laid out as music.

it's that simple.
