Hiya Folks,

A friend and I would like to add some songs to our repertoire. He's an excellent guitarist and can learn anything. So please give me some songs that have guitar/harp/vocals (or no vocals)

So far I've decided to include;

"Good Morning Little School Girl"

So, let em loose! feel free to give more than one suggestion -- and difficulty level is not an issue, I've got all summer to slow it down and learn!

How about Stormy Monday...Guitar in G...harp in C. If you wanna hear a great version check out Jubal-Kane's version with Ace Anderson on harp.

My suggestion is that for, say, every five covers you learn, write one of your own.

off the top of my head:
sittin on top of the world
st. james infirmary
love in vain
virtually any jimmy reed song!
summertime
stranger/new stranger blues
boom boom out go the lights
nobody knows you (when you're down and out)
ramblin on my mind
my babe
flip flop and fly
san francisco bay blues
mind your own business
baby please don't go
midnight special
see see rider
roll and tumble blues
little red rooster
corinna corinna
kansas city blues
betty and dupree
knockin on heaven's door
not fade away
shake rattle and roll

there are more. it just depends on what you and an acoustic guitar player can sort of adapt to 2 instruments. Jolene and i play all these songs above in our duo. and more.
there is also such a wealth of delta blues stuff out there that we've barely touched.
in addition, we're in the middle of recording about 20 originals we've written and been playing for a while now. it is just indescribable fun to make your own songs!
mind you we are not trained professional musicians, more the gut bucket variety, playing the street, small joints here and out of town, and as openers for electric bands here and there. we do this mostly for the love of it, we seldom break even let alone make a living, but the payoff to us is turning people on to roots and blues, live, in places where they don't even know they love the music until we come along! and usually we have at least a few patrons come by and compliment us between sets.

keep us all posted on your adventure!!
