I would have thought that on monday night, on BBC radio 2, when Paul was playing stuff from the 2010 Blues Music Awards, that he would finally have played something from New Blood, as Jason won the best instumentalist Harmonica this year in these awards.
But, no, again I was very dissapointed. I have every respect for Paul and have met and talked to him at the UK festival but no mention of JR at all in his shows.
It is acknowledged that Paul is a born-again christian, and I think JR has quoted from Alestair Crowley's works on this forum?
Could this have something to do with it? I maybe wrong.
It should not in my opinion have any bearing on the music being aired.
In any event Jason Ricci deserves more exposure in the UK and he ain't gettin' it.

@harmonicanick:
Interesting thought.
I seriously doubt Jason Ricci & New Blood would be excluded on religious grounds (or indeed on grounds of sexuality).
Maybe the music is deemed a bit too energetic for the BBC Radio 2 demographic? Still, one would have thought that a 2010 Blues Music Award Winner deserves a bit of airplay on the UKs (only?) national blues radio show...

The simple truth is that outside of those with a specific interest in harmonica, Jason (like many more established harp players in the US) isn't very well known in the UK. I doubt they can fit the winners of every award in one show. I woudn't take it as a slight against JR, I can't imagine that there's a conspiracy.
