I played a duo show with Paris James this afternoon and the crowd reaction was tremendous.

I really enjoyed playing that old school acoustic blues and Paris is the real deal. Paris brought his manager out to meet me and they asked me to tour Europe with him starting in late Aug. We're still working out the details but if the money is there for me, I'm going to do it.

They are trying to get me on some of the summer festivals too so I might be playing around the US fairly soon.

This is a link to Paris' solo album. He's the real deal and I think we make the perfect harmonica guitar harmonica duo especially with some of the marvin gaye, neville brother and other motown stuff mixed in.

ttt- I don't know what the text was empty but I fixed it.

Man, I wish our show this afternoon was recorded. We sounded good!!! It was the kind of thing where people were throwing $10 and $20 bills at our feet. I walked out with $86 in tips and that was half!

It'd be cool if you made it around this area, New England like Boston, Manchester, or Maine somewhere.

Buddha, I think you should rock a turban and Ray-Bans like Kim Wilson used to do in the early T-Bird days. You could pull that off. Prescription Ray-Bans in your case--I've tried a friend's and one can see quite well in a darkened venue if you choose the right shade. Probably a tiger-skin blazer like J.B. Lenoir used to wear, maybe a leopard print one too so you can alternate on tour. White shirt, black pants w/ cummerbund. Black dress shoes and socks. Merge J.B. Lenoir with Sam the Sham.

Unless you can figure out a "Buddha of the Blues" look. Maybe a black kufi to represent the hair, Ray-Bans, long earrings, flowing robes?

Whatever shows Jason Ricci a thing or two about outrageous blues attire/persona. Why should he have all the fun?

Forgive me for not saying sooner that I listened to the "Hoochie Coochie" clip first, and the moment I heard the 7th chord arpeggio, I thought to myself, "Damn, if I were elsewhere in the building and heard that, I would know there was one harp-playing ************* in the house somewhere." That is the sound of someone who can play the covers off a diatonic, never mind about genre; it is a rare player who can make a simple, basic lick sound that good. Of course, James Cotton achieves that level with EVERY basic blues lick, but that's why he's James Cotton and the rest of us aren't :-).

Glad to think of you having fun with it and making some money.

Oh the irony! The exquisite irony! ;)

I'm happy for you Buddha. That should be a fun gig. But I also agree with 'Fess. Ditch the cargo shorts and Tees and get yourself some decent threads for SHOW TIME.

Brandon Bailey has this Tiger Woods look I really like. I might do that.

I might not be touring until next year. Right now the money simply isn't there for me since several contracts are already in place. They are working on it but they might not be able re-work all of them and I can't be playing for free.

Hope they can afford to stretch to a real drum kit. The Mattel kit doesn't do the band any justice.

Well, as the story goes, the difference between playing jazz and playing blues is that jazz musicians play hundreds of notes for a half dozen people and blues musicians play a half dozen notes for hundreds of people.

The moral of the story has more to to with economics than music.
