Hi. Make sure your splitter is a mono one. I made the mistake of buying stereo splitter and 1 channel has a lower signal output. A good alternative is a A/B box like the one that Morley has. You could probably buy a cheaper version at Sam Ash Music. I have the Morley one == it works great and, it's virtually indestructible. Hope this helps.
