Thanks to whoever posted this video of Jason and New Blood from this past weekend. Hope they do well over there.

At about the 4:30 mark you can hear someone in the audience playing harmonica in the middle of Jason's solo. Jason reacts a couple of times.

I cannot imagine doing something like this. I would be pissed off as a performer or an audience member. I would have called him down.

It is true assholes like this guy that hurt the rep of the harmonica world.

Gussers suck.

about 12 years ago, one of my student was going to Chicago and while there he planned to catch a Joe Filisko gig. I had one of those big plastic marine bands that music shops used to have to help market harmonicas. I knew Joey had been looking for one for a long time. Joe absolutely hates people who play harp in the audience while he does so I set him up.

I convinced my student to bring that big ass harp to Joe's gig and put a small harmonica inside it to play while Joe was playing. He kept doing it everytime joe soloed until he said something and then it was presented to him as a gift from me.

I wish I was there to see Joe's face.

I think Jason reacted very professionally. He didn't insult the guy personnally but nailed him with his solo and a witty comment. Good on him.

Man, on new years eve I went and saw a Jerry Garcia tribute band and my friend said "You should go play harp with them" and I said "Naw, they already got a guy playing harp!" and pointed to the guy in the FRONT ROW sitting playing harmonica. This didn't please the band. The lead singer got so pissed off he grabbed the harmonica from the guy and stuck it in his beer! Nobody blamed him.

I'm going to see him play on Sunday in Antwerp and can't wait! If I hear someone playing in the audience, I'll go have a nice talk with them. ; )

Buddha, that is pretty damn funny.

"that's so effin weird"...I've had that happen a few times. It really, really jacks with Your head, half the time their not even in the right key. It's like You want to go shove it down their throat...but Your in the middle of a solo, and usually cant see them. People who bring harps to gigs are twits.

This isn't actually the first video of Jason where some jerk starts playing harp in the audience while Jason's playing. In th other video Jason was playing and the guy in the audience started and playing and Jason stopped playing and looked at the guy and said something like "I'll be done in a minute".

I can't believe how often this kind of thing happens, no wonder people hate harp players. How can anyone honestly think that's an appropriate way to behave.

Have you guys seen this clip, the jack ass makes his way on stage at about 4:37
