When I came down for coffee Monday morning at the hotel Billy Branch was waiting to check out, so I went up and thanked him for a great show and particularly for getting us up to jam at the end. He said he had a great time, and that he loved doing stuff like that. He was easy to talk to, very gracious. I had told myself beforehand that if there was any open jamming I would only watch since I'm just a rookie player, but he made it such a non-threatening environment I said screw it! and went up and played. I'm so glad I did, I would have really been kicking myself the next day if I had passed up such a cool opportunity. It was great meeting you folks, hope to see you next year.

Billy is a fantastic harp player. He's taught thousands of kids in his Blues In The Schools program. He may be one of the most recorded harp players alive today. He's also a great guy!

The conga line was cool. Did anyone else see when Billy imitate Jr. Wells during his era where he tried to mimic James Brown's dance moves? I think he finished the dance moves by saying, "Goddamnit, I believe I know where I'm at!" It was awesome and so was the clear beverage.
