Cindy's "new" song is in fact an old song by Little Walter Jacobs, "Just Your Fool" recorded Dec. '60.

Just an average, middle of the road ass I guess? :-)
Hey, quieten down with all that anti-capitalist talk, people will catch on & I'll have trouble shifting these "New Improved, Crispy Crumb Coated, Microwave Ready, Eco friendly, carbon neutral, Magic Beans Version 4.0" & I'll never be able to afford my own private island.
It's the emporer's new clothes, it doesn't bug me, most folks attribute the original artist to the person they first heard sing it & are happy to leave it at that, but keeps it the public eye. On the other hand, it might pique someone's interest (already has with respect to Hemi & Captainbliss) in the genre & where it all came from, & inspire the next generation.

What I actually meant to say is it is on her new album. New song or old song I dont give a crap. I think it is cool to see harp being played on a major Show and I am still a noob so if I dont know all the popular harp players by face or every old song, fuck a dump white collar making lots of dolalrs like me. :)

Actually, Just Your Fool was originally done as an 8-bar slow blues in the mid 1940's, long before LW recorded it as an more uptempo blues and it was originally performed and written by Ella Johnson backed by her brother's band, the Buddy Johnson Orchestra. ---------- Sincerely, Barbeque Bob Maglinte Boston, MA http://www.barbequebob.com CD available at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bbmaglinte

Cyndi Lauper is an outstanding singer and artist. Whether she's your cup of tea or not, she has the respect of the entire music industry. I am sure Charlie would agree, otherwise he wouldn't have been up there. All the other talk has its place, but I thought Charlie, Cyndi and the band did a great job. Anything that gets Charlie Musselwhite on prime time on NBC is FINE with me.

I agree that its good to see some harp on tv esp blues.
BUT, what a horrible, overly compressed and nasal sound, with no bottom end :o(
Question is, am I talking about Charlie, Cyndi, or both??

I just watched the show via Hulu on my Dell laptop with external Logitech speakers. It sure seemed that the mix was favoring CM's harp over the rest of the band and even Cyndi's vocals. Good thing.
