This guy was just a big favorite of mine years ago--died in early 80's--one of the real fathers of the blues.



He's still one of my heroes. . .

several years ago I borrowed a video tape from our public library, It was a PBS documentary hosted by a younger thinner BB King. There was a nice segment on the Chatman family, talked about The Miss. Sheiks, Memphis Slim, and showed Sam sitting in an empty cotton mill with his guitar playing "Sittin' on Top of The World". Best version of that tune I've ever heard. JD
