I went o a open jam 1st one in allmost a year,it was at a friends new bar,so im going to try to make the thur,night open mic when i can,There was some blues,which was cool and a change from most the open mics around here,There was another harp player there which,Ive never seen, another harp player befor,so that was weird,He was the cousin of the bass player that went with me,What was also cool is i took all the members of my last band i was in that i got releases from David Castro Band all except David Castro lol we were joking about a side project.The harp player had a shaker mic plug into the PA i heard he been playing a few years,He had been jamming befor i got there,I pluged in my amp but its only 12 watts and it couldnt be heard there was a mix a 2 bands playing the drummer said grab the pa mic so the 1st song i played though the pa mic it was kinds weird playing acoustically into it i wanted to cup it but then i would try to play into it,After the 1st song i mic my amp,it worked better i had a pa out line and thought about using that but went with micing it.We played some blues and some old rock covers,long songs 15 min average just jammed.I wasnt sure how i sounded cause the pa i didt have a monitor i could tell i was in the mix good but i could used a monitor,But i got a lot of compliments from people,the old band i was with really said i had improved,There going on a month tour next week in a RV I said tell David Castro I will play for free with em if i can go Kinda Joking,but i would if the wanted me to :-)But it was fun the other harp player left after my 1st song.I was kinds nervous he was going to get up there and make me look bad,But he didnt thank God.
