Hi folks

Apologies for my absence here and elsewhere - I'm neck deep in academic work that's keeping me from all sorts of pleasures.

Announcement: Will "Captain Bliss" Greener has invited his teacher and, I believe, friend Grant Dermody to London Harmonicas tomorrow night. I have to say I'm bloody pleased to hear it - Dermody is in the UK with Eric Bibb and due to exam commitments I couldn't attend.

Getting there:

London Harmonicas Meeting: Wednesday 12th May 2010 @ the Torriano pub

Beginners from 7.15-8pm,
Players & Improvers: 8-10pm
Cost: £4/£3

The address is 71-73 Torriano Avenue, London NW5 2SG. (Nearest station is Kentish Town)

For those who haven't heard of Dermody, I like to think of him as the Coleridge to Filisko's Wordsworth. I think, however, that Filisko is much better at harmonica than Wordsworth was at poetry so forget that description. Just come to the Torriano and find out for yourself.

Cheers

Murray

p.s. I have an exam tomorrow morning, so (a) wish me luck (b) expect me to be boisterous tomorrow night.

I highly second this recommendation. Grant is my teacher when he is in town (Seattle) and I have had the pleasure of seeing him multiple times with many different artists including Mr. Bibb. Grant is a virtuoso and Eric and him together is nothing short of marvelous. Don't miss it if you are near the performance.
