I joined this forum for educational purposes and it is obvious there are knowledgeable people out there-please enlighten me on the advantage of owning a low f or a high g harp if you use a low harp are you still playing in the key of c crossharp or playing a high g are you still playing in the key of d cross harp again I humbly ask for help from the pack

Yeah, you're still in the same keys, just in lower and higher ranges. There are many reasons you might want to do that, a high G to stand out above instruments, a low F to play in key of C and get a more rock bottom, less shrill sound, etc.

I don't use low harps often, and prefer a high G over a low G for most situations. To me, a high G just has more of a kick to it. But I do like the low keys for slow songs where I'm accompanying a singer. Sometimes a high key is just too shrill for certain songs.
