The one that works. Check out Skip Simmons website, he is the Masco guru.

You will end up spending over $200 to get it fully serviced, and modded for harp. That doesn't include the cost of tubes? The 35N is not one I would recommend. I owned one, and it was a feedback monster, and very noisy. It was fully serviced to stock specs before I bought it, but I couldn't handle the feedback, and the audible hum.
The best Masco's are obviously the MA-17, ME-18, and any of the Audiospheres.
If you looking for a good PA head, I have a early 60's all tube Bogen Challenger that was recently fully serviced to factory specs, and modded for harp (channel 1), and guitar (channel 2) by Keith Robb (SJ 410 builder, and the designer, and prototype builder of the Cruncher.
It is switchable to run 12/20/40 watts. It has way too many mods to list here.
I will be listing on Ebay in the next week. I have 8 amps now, and I need to thin the herd.

I bought a Bogen Challenger some years back, no mods at all, really loud, clean sound, but can push a 4x10 cab. I think I paid $10.00. Still have it somewhere. I also have a masco MU-17 combo. Spent way too much on it, had Skip put it into gigging condition, sounds great with a vintage 12" alnico speaker, currently has a big hum. You always take a chance with vintage gear. I bought it all over the years, now have 2 modern tube amps and 2 vintage. All sound a little different. The vintage amps require more comittment, but sometimes you get lucky.

All the Mascos I have tried have been perfect for Blues Harp. I have tried MA 17 & MA 25 & MA 35 they were all good. The best ones are ones in good original condition but they are harder to find

I used the MA 35 with a Kinder feedback pedal & a Boss RV2 reverb pedal a 100 watt alnico & two 8" speakers the sound was unbelievable very LOUD & RASPY & FAT I wish there was a modern combo that could get the same sound in a light package to carry - maybe there is one

The Masco MA 35n I owned had like 12 tubes, unlike the more common MA's your probably talking about Straw?
Certain Masco's are killer harp amps, but there are some to avoid, and this is one of them.

I have a Masco MAP120 w/ 10" speaker and a Masco MA-808 w/8" speaker. Both sound great with harp. The speakers are up graded though. 10" is a Weber sig 10 and the 8" is a Jensen Ceramic. Both ebay buys. The MAP120 combo did have a Skip Simmons business card stuck inside the cabinet. Don't know if he worked on it or not. It wasn't advertised that he did.

I sold a 1956 MAP 15 last year. It had a stock Jensen 12" speaker. 2-6L6's, 2-7F7's, and a 5Y3.
It was similar to the one Harpsucker demos on YT. It was very good for harp, but still can't touch the Premiers when it comes to fat, thick harp tone.
