I have been playing for a while but only recently have taken the harp seriously.
Mahalo Adam for creating this forum for ALL of us to learn from each other. Adams 'how to' vids are very helpful. As are other vids from other players/teachers.
Playing harp is moody. Sometimes it feels amazing and other times it pushes us to find a place we didn't know. Today I feel like playing and other days it feels like why am I the only guy who plays this little but amazing instrument? Who cares? Are they listening to me play my solo? Am i listening to myself? We individually decide.
As I learn to feel and play the harp in my humble opinion it comes from jam sessions, listening to others, self emotions, practice, being drunk, thanking the drummer, dancing around while you play, playing sober, understanding the dynamic of a band, the web, knowing that for an instant we play for an audience, selfishness, companionship, amplification, and desire to entertain, and on and on.
Thank You Greg for the great custom volume control mic (sm57). And thank you Brian for the great DT Amp.
Aloha,
JJ
