Saw Moreland & Arbuckle last nite, opening for Buddy Guy.
Arbuckle's vocals were lost in the mix at the Roseland Theater.
the Moreland cigar-box bass/guitar contraption was kinda cool,
couldn't quite figure out what was going on with that
til i watched this vid.
Buddy Guy was frekin awsome, great mix there.
i especially enjoyed his control of the audence.
and telling the babbeling dimwits in the crowd to
"shut the ferk up!"
there must have been a big mouth up front near the
stage, Buddy suggested that he/she go learn to play
guitar so they could do their own show.
I picked up an autographed Buddy Guy guitar strap and
a poster at his merc table... don't want Buddy driving
any tow trucks. Wondering if the strap might make a nice
harp bandolero.

This was my first trip to the Roseland Theater, Portland, Or.
a friend had said she didn't like the venue. The seats are a bit
cramped in the reserved section. I spent most of the time
near the soundboard. The venue could use some basic maintaince,
but was otherwise OK. They didn't pat anyone down at the door,
just asked if we had any weapons. I was tempted to whip out
my MB for weapon inspection...
