thanks clyde! I am getting into these bushman harps. Their gritty sound is grabbing me. They play easy on the rack too. Gritty, nasty little harp piece Walter, loved it.
Definitely see "Something about Mary", not your typical movie, I don't know why that's so important to me.
You are close with your "muse", my friend!

CaptainBolide: I don't know who that is. I don't watch tv, listen to the radio, read the newspaper, or go to the movies. I found those mediums to be overly seeped in negative stuff, or had nothing much to say to my heart. I stick to old movies(netflix) and my old blues records when I need a media fix. I looked him up, but since I never heard of him, couldn't draw a connection.
shanester: I will have to look for that movie. You guys got me researching............
Gwood 420: I reccomend the delta frosts. they play easier than the marine bands (I have endorsed and used for the past 35 years). They are gritter sounding, which I like and don't like. It depends on the mood. Lately I am liking a little natural grit on the harp. I was only being tongue in cheek with the rack comment for those struggling with learning the rack and getting frustrated. The rack is like learning a new instrument and no harp is going to get you around the learning curve. Here ye' on that comment. Although, it is coming along better then I expected and I'm sticking with the Marine Bands.
I can see why people check out various makes and end up some franken-rack configuration. The off the shelf ones are either to short or too light or something else seems wrong. I'm sure that's part of the learning curve.

XHarp: After 35 years of playing harp in a rack (and off it) I can testify the rack is the least of the problems. I use the cheapest one out there ($8) unmodified. I spent years monkeying around with trying to get it feeling better. It just takes time to get use to it, like if you have to walk on crutches...... I am finally feeling like it is not on a rack when it is. The cheapo one lets it move around. I like that. I don't like the expensive ones because they lock it to you. No movement is no good IMO. I am not talking about the harp moving in the rack, but the rack moving. Walter ---------- walter tore's spontobeat - a real one man band and over 1 million spontaneously created songs and growing.
