there was no shredding, I just wanted your attention. We were just playing whatever people wanted which most of the time was blues or beatles tunes. Bonfiglio is heck of a guy. I've know him for 14 years and he's more interesting every time I meet him.
I'm listening to this track as I type and I'm thinking, what an interesting juxtaposition of three harmonica players who are on very different levels of technical ability, musical ability, improvisational ability, etc... furthermore, you can not only hear the differences in ability, you can see them. Each player dresses a certain way and uses equipment that defines their style and being.
BTW- Shredding 101 rule1 sec.11.2 dictates that one shall NEVER shred a supporting member. Shredding is for oppositional forces only.

i could tell the difference between u and the guy with the bullet...he warbled some too which i know you detest. i saw u with your arms crossed while he was doing it, patiently waiting for your chance, i was thinking the shred would come then, and honestly you did let loose (of sorts) when it was your turn again. sans warble of course. ---------- Kyzer's Travels
These videos are fantastic proof of how the diatonic can roll with a chromatic in regards to playing style. I love it! So tasteful and lyrical from all involved. This would have been a great event to be at!!!
Regardless of your views on Chris, you can't tell me that his style didn't totally fit what was going on or that he used techniques that distracted from the music. Of course, he chose to serve the song and pick a harmonica position that played to the strengths of the diatonic rather than forcing a harp into a song using technique for the sake of technique.
Niiiiiicee!! Well played all around. I love watching Bonfiglio play. He moves like a cat. Totally centered posture. No bent over death grip grimace thing going on. I asked him once if he had studied martial arts because the way he presents himself and projects and how he moves around on the chromatic reminded me of Bruce Lee's theories of Jeet Kune Do. He said he never had.
