Hey, I reviewed the Bulletizer from Greg Heumann at my blog. Great product! Highly recommended.

Another fine review, Rick. When I decide to break down and get an Ultimate 545, I'll want this, too. Seems like such a common-sense solution-I'm glad Greg came out with another well-made product to fill this void.

Question-I see that hole-is it for a set screw that secures the Bulletizer to the mic? I was wondering if it would be held in place either by an o-ring or a set screw.

Todd, there is a an O-ring and three set screws. It feels like a part of the microphone after it is installed. Very solid.

Did anyone ask if you were playing thru a flashlight?

What's the diameter of the mic shaft where it takes the o-ring and set screws? Would you be able to adjust down to a 1 1/4 inch mic shaft?

Moose, I think that's a question for Greg.

Toddle- LOL! Did you ever play through a Bottle O' Blues mic? It looks like you're sucking on a baby bottle. Cool tone for the money but a weird look.

Yeah, I own a BOB. I've been tempted to get a McCormick spice label(BBQ seasoning or something)and slap it on there-or throw some blinking LEDs inside.

Bluemoose- inside diameter of the Bulletizer is JUST (and I mean like within .002") big enough to slip over the head of an SM57 or 545, which is about .035" bigger than the barrel itself. The O-ring is almost enough to hold the bulletizer by itself, but is there to provide an airtight seal. The set screws do the rest - there are 3 of them. It will not fit a mic with a 1 1/4" mic shaft.

I CAN do one-off Bulletizers to fit other mics but you need to send me the mic for accurate measurements and testing and you probably won't like the price. There are about 10 different machining setups to make a Bulletizer. Just like Ultimates I have to make many at a time to get the time and cost down. I do them production line style - a single manufacturing step on all of them, then change setups and do the next step. And the design and process are all worked out now! To make one for your mic I have to spend a fair bit of time working out the design, and do just as many machining setups for a single unit - so I have to charge quite a bit more.

Thanks for the details Greg. Guess I have yet another DIY project on the books.

Ive got one on the way, and I cant wait to put it to the test. I had similar problems with noise from the rotating head, and it being difficult to hold. My fix?
First, I put PVC pipe insulation over the handle (near the base of the mic head), cut it to the width of my fingers that held it, and then I wrapped it with duct tape, this made it much more easy to handle, BUT it would routinely slide up and onto the head of the mic, giving me feedback on my lil Fender Frontman15.... Not to mention the tone was affected. (it was obvious)

I played just last night with the foam removed and enjoy the sound without it...It was a good idea in concept, definitely easier to hold, but something tells me Greg's got the concept down to a science.

Cant wait for mine.

Kyzer, you will like the Bulletizer. I'm very impressed with mine... Love playing the SM57 through the Mission Chicago amp.
