I wanted to let you guys hear what Ive been working on for nearly three weeks. PT"s version of 'The Thumb'. This run through tonight (this morning) gives me faith that I can put out a polished cut soon enough.
be gentle...

Audacity and a Guitar Hero (XBOX 360) mic. I couldnt find a backing track, so I ripped the original from Wes Montgomery, and took out his guitar. WYSIWYG... ---------- Kyzer's Travels

That was impressive. I know you haven't been playing that long. How much did you practice to get to that level so quickly?

Ive been burning the song, almost exclusively, for three weeks. After my impromptu meeting with PT a few weeks ago, well, it lit a fire under me. I probably played it two hours a day or so until i got it down good enough to record it...I recorded it at a slightly slower tempo. I increased the tempo on the finished product about 8% faster than what I originally recorded it. More in time with PT's version. Thanks for the compliment. Im hoping to learn a few more tunes of his.... ---------- Kyzer's Travels

Kyzer, You're a pretty good inspiration. I like your dedication to the instrument.

Nice. If I stick on one song that long, I hate the song when I'm 3/4 of the way through it. It gets so stuck in your head you hear it in your sleep. It can be some time before I can come back and finish it if ever.

That was very well done. I always like tunes that have some good repeat grooves and then a few head turner moments. I like the head turner moments with the little quick run at about 2:01 and then the scale run at about 2:30.
Very nice for sure. I'd say its pretty polished already. ---------- "Keep it in your mouth" - XHarp

Just another example and evidence for the "practice one thing until mastered" philosophy. Sounds great!
