I dug out an older GM and wanted to clean the thing up but it has nails holding the reed plates on. Anyone know if I can push them out and reinsert them later and still get a tight fit? Are new ones set up with screws or still with nails? Thanks.

The new ones have screws. You can reuse the nails, switch to screws, or YouTube elkriverharmonicas as it pertains to using a toothpick to help stabalize the holes for the nails. ----------

you can carefully go around and tap out the nails until the tip is flush with the reed plate. Best is to use a metal surface like a flat vise top with a slight opening for the nail heads to come through. Careful when the draw reeds are down not to mash them when you tap the nails.
They will fit tight enough if you remove them carefully
