I have been reading/responding to a bunch of posts today and then I got home and found this video forwarded to me. It is about an autistic woman that does typical autistic behaviors that society deems bizzare. Somehow this woman can convey her actions to words. I find it fascinating because I not only work with HS students similar to this woman everyday who have not yet found a way to express their ideas in ways we understand, but also see it as a great window in the creative side of life.
I got inspired so much these 2 songs came out of me today and I was done- satified to the max. What does the world think of such songs? I know playing them they feel deeper than any standard blues beat I do. I wish I could live in this area, but it only comes when it comes.
here is the video. I am not sure how to get it up on this page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnylM1hI2jc

Thanks Walter. My wife is a Special Ed Aide. My sister was a Special Ed Teacher and now does the home visits, helping families get support they need. I sent them the link.
I have much respect for those who have the heart, compassion and energy to do this work. Much more important than what I do for a livin' ---------- Rob
rpoe: You are welcome. I do love my job. I have put together a bunch of businesses that are thriving that my students run. Everything is scratch made and they are sold on campus and in stores in the community. They are learning that their lives are important and society appreciates the work they do. I started as an aide when I lived in Austin. Every Friday we had a huge dance party. All the special ed high school classes came by. I would put a band together and we would have the kids dancing, singing, blowing harps (when I piloted the hohner rainbow harp program). I had a waiting list of great musicians to do those gigs. Guys like Charlie Sexton, Jimmy Carl Black loved playing those gigs. There is no higher energy level/interaction than with a group of special needs people. They let it all hang out.
