I wanted to ask this question again. I had posted it, and then the post got spammed and now it's gone.
Is anyone familiar with the Crate G212 XL? Would this be any good for harp? Has anyone here played on one of these? A.

i'm not familiar with that amp but do you know what the specs are- how many power tubes, what kind, pre amp section, tubes, what kind, speakers, what brand and type?
this is very basic info that can tell a lot about an amp. is it a tube amp? does it have a rectifier tube and what type?
a lot of amps are built with guitar in mind. unfortunately the frequencies of a harp mic are very different than a guitar pickup, and the result is commonly feedback hassles with a guitar amp and a harp mic plugged into it.
if it's a solid state amp, my first reaction would be to look at something else. a 2x12 ss amp may be very difficult or impossible to tame for a harp mic.

If you can, try it before you buy it! If you don't, you will probably end up with a garage ornament.
That's a powerful, loud, heavy, high gain amp. 80-100 watts solid state. Like Jbone said, it's voiced for guitar. Do you need a 100 watt 2x12 amp? My buddy had one that someone installed a 15" Peavey Black Widow, and in both our opinions, it didn't even sound good for guitar. Not blues anyway.

I am guessing you won't like it. Solid state amp with 2 X12" Crate speakers. Too loud, too harsh and cold sounding. It would be good for guitar thrashers.

Thanks very much for your responses, everyone. I looked up the info and it is solid state, and one review said it has a weak low end. One guitarist liked it for soloing to heavy metal.
I think I'll skip this one. I appreciate your time!
