As of today, The Crescent City Harmonica Club shall be known from hereon out as the Trossingen Troubadours. We believe this name pays due homage to the history of our humble instrument. Trossingen, Germany is the birthplace of the harmonica. Say it three times fast;savor the way it feels rolling off your tongue.

Presently, our attire for meetings has been left wide open and casual. But, I propose this change:

Returning to our Trossingen roots! Next meeting , which will be on Wednesday, April 7th, the men shall wear Lederhosen, and the ladies shall wear Dirndls. You'll find these to be quite comfortable to play harmonica in.

In fact, as the Trossingen Troubadours, we aim to start a fashion revolution in New Orleans. After all Lederhosen are much more masculine as summer attire than the men's capris that are now becoming all the rage. For the ladies, the dirndl is sure to start a style tsunami amongst the fashionista crowd.

Love your history. Embrace the instrument we play beyond its popular blues heritage. Were it not for Trossingen, there'd be no blues harmonica!

Finding Lederhosen isn't easy, but a dedicated Troubadour shouldn't have any trouble. Online dealers such as Haus of Bavaria sell them at the modest price of 200 dollars a pair. Get them while they last!

On the subject of our name and attire change, we will still honor our New Orleans heritage as well. Only those wearing Lederhosen/Dirndl combos in purple, green and gold Mardi Gras colors will be admitted to the meetings.

Of course, this month's meeting will be all about embracing change. In keeping with the theme, we won't be playing blues this time out. Instead, we will embrace a well-known standard that makes our new image so much more fun.

Learn Girl From Ipanema in your spare time(while not shopping for Lederhosen), and we will pick it apart and analize it in its' entirety, and play it in round. Bossanovas are fun to play in Lederhosen and Dirndls!

See ya there!

HaHa, GH, this was a April fool's joke I emailed out to our club(read down the left side, the first letter of every paragraph...). As for the Lederhosen, you really don't want to see that-it would just add to the list of things you wish you could unsee.
