man i hoped the 1v chord question wood have got alot more response.what do you guys do for the chord.i just learned you could use the 1 draw .i thought you could only blow on four chord .

This is as simple IMHO as a I can explain it. Over the blues form you can use the blues scale over the progression. Listen and jam with records to get the "sweet spots"
There are other approaches but I don't want to confuse you with too much input. The ear is the final judge.
If you really have a passion to learn find a teacher or go to the Howard Levy site. You can buy plenty of books with DVDs and CDS

ok is it true you can play the 1d2d4d8d and the 3b6b 9b and the blues scale over the 1 1v v progression any time if this is true .i have had my wow moment .

roadharp - I think some people were confused by your terminology - I know until your last post I was really confused.
The shorthand for chords uses Roman numerals, so it's a letter I - not a 1. Uppercase I for major, lowercase i for minor.
I IV V
Sorry to sound nitpicky, but it's good if we all speak the same lingo! ;-)

I know someone is going throw the Walter Piston harmony book at me but in Jazz we don't use lower case anymore. Imaj7 IImin7 IIImin7 IVmaj7 V7 etc.
