I am sitting here on lunch watching YouTubes pretty much at random. I am realizing that some players instantly remind me of other guys...whether it be tone, phrasing, cover choice, clothes, stage presence, etc.

Everyone has their own sound, but some have really pushed towards emmulating another player. So much so that you obviously tell who they are chasing down.

So if you've checked out my band's MySpace or YouTube, who do I sound like? Lol. I am curious as to who I am ripping things off from.

I know who my biggest influences are and that what I have online isn't as vast as what I do over a three hour gig, but I am wandering how many of them come out.

I'll let on that I sometimes I do a head jerk that is identical to Buddha and that I sometimes hold and sing with near Popperish posture. But no clues as to the sonic influences.

No matter who original any player is, nobody lives in a vacuum, and when you listen closely to any player of any skill level, innovateness, you name it, they will at some point reflect whoever has influenced them in some way and that can't be helped.

Correct.

Some people are more obvious than others or have more generic influences or have fewer people they're leeching from.

I am just curious if I hear my playing in similar fashion to others.
