I will be attending my 1st SPAH show this August in MN. I would imagine that there will be a lot of harp vendors. I know most "custom" harp makers try and make their harps actually customized for the players style of playing. But I wonder if some of the custom harp guys still sell more generically set up "stage 1 or 2 type of harps there?

Mostly it's just the major manufacturers--Hohner, Seydel, Suzuki--etc. They sell some harps just out of the box. It's a good idea to keep an eye on these vendors though--you can pick up some great deals. I got 2 BR Hohners for five bucks each--I sould have gotten ten--but they only had low Eb and low F#.

I think you could order a lot of stuff in the vendor room--but I don't think I noticed any customs that were out for sale. . .

if you are thinking of buying something besides an OOTB harp- i would plan ahead and order it in time for them to bring it to SPAH. it will save on shipping and you just might get a SPAH-type of discount.

Hey, thanks for the input. Ordering ahead sounds like a good idea.
