I find that when amped I hear a clear difference in tone. I am thinking it is because then I TB I cover more holes on the harp vrs when I LP. When playing without a Mic the difference is alot less to my ears.

Do you find this to be true as well? Also on the high end there is not much difference I can hear between both methods

Same here but in my case I think it's because of the technique I use. I often automatically do a quick tongue slap before hitting a single note and that really stands out when playing amped. I don't seem to do that as much when I play accoustic. The note itself that follows the slap doesn't sound too different IMHO. It's more what happens around it.
