Does anyone have any experience playing through a Crate V18. I played through one last night at a jam and it seemed to be pretty good. At one time there were three guitars / a bass/ and drums and I could cut through pretty good ( mic'ed through the PA). It seemed to have more "bottom end" than the Blues jr that is usually available.

never heard of it, though I am amp knowledge deprived... I did give up on my lil fender frontman for the PA our singer yells thru, with awesome, fantastical results....

I have a frontman 15 as well..my first amp. It can't hold it's own at this blues jam. It also has a line out so it does not HAVE to me mic'ed. Hope to meet you in Mississippi!

pharpo- I've tried the amp and didn't care for it. It sounds like most EL84 amps when used for harp: Tending toward thin, boxy, nasal, shrill. I think you would do much better with a good Champ clone, such as the excellent Harpgear HG2.

Rick, I appreciate the info...the HG2 does have great sound....I heard Adams in Philly.....I just don't think i can afford that much for an amp right now... I am retired and on a fairly fixed income.
