Thanks Muz. I messed up a few times and my 4 draw went flat which I can hear but I was happy with the performance. I got a few pats on the back after which was a great boost for me and my playing. Cheerz

I know you are excited about them - and should be - they are very nice. You are not on YOUR time anymore when you post something. Just let it happen and bump it if you want it up at the top again - or label it - HEY GUYS, PLEASE WATCH.

Any way here are my thought's on all harp players you included,..your playing LIVE !! If ya miss or mess up a blow or draw just blend,..playin guitar if I miss a note I don't start over or worry,..I just blend.
Don't beat yourself up later on ,. those ol'blues greats never did,.they just incorporated the mess up an maybe even started to leave the mess up in ,.. The blues is a feeling,..in your head you were feeling a flat 4 draw an it sounded good at the time ,.. Those ol' blues guys didn't have Videos to listen to them self later after a gig,.so when they walked off stage they said I did good!! eh,..Missed draw or blow they were good.
So point being,. just play what ya feel & feel what ya play,.. set back an listen to that video ,.close your eye's an don't think it's you play en,. but someone else ,.. Ohh ,.sounds pretty damn good now doesn't it?? Your not in a studio where ya can do take after take,..
Ohh Yea ,.. then listen to the crowd,..they were clappin their azz off for ya ,..they didn't know ya missed a beat & WERE HAPPY TO HEAR YA PLAY!!

We were all amazed at you're playing Russ ... the guys were looking at each other and thinking man this sounds just like Joe Aslin ... When you were up there i was so happy for you ... When i joined the band the guy's said dont listen to the records ... Just play the way you play .. i was glad they said that ... cus i cant play someone's feelings .... plus he only played in second pos ... so alot of the harps he used were F.E Eb D C ... i would rather play a G harp In G than use a C .. And for the key of C i would use a lo F .or a Bb. and Am i use a G harp in 3rd ... only cus i like the lower harps better then usint the higer ones ...But you sounded Great ....Deak Harp
Thanks for the kind words Deak. I enjoyed playing that night although I put myself under alot of pressure for no reason. I understand exactly what you mean when you said I sounded like Joe. The reference I had was listening to the cd and this is where I need to push my playing and experiment with other positions. I dont really play like Joe normally and was guilty of playing safe that night. When I listn to it back it sounds ok but there is none of me in there if you know what I mean. I am like you I enjoy the voice of the lower harps more than C upwards. I have so much more to learn. Thanks again
