I posted this in a thread last week but deleted the thread at Sonny Boy Terry's request, since he hadn't quite confirmed all the performers.

Now it's confirmed.

On July 31, I'll be doing a harp clinic in Houston at Dan Electro's Guitar Bar. 4-6 PM. $25.

From 8PM to 12:30 AM or so, the same venue will have the Down Home Texas Blues Harmonica Festival, featuring Sonny Boy Terry (and his band), Rob Roy Parnell, Dave Nevling, and yours truly. An open jam in the final hour.

For more information, please contact terryjerome@comcast.net

ALSO: I'm interested in a clinic and/or gig on Friday, July 30 in Baton Rouge. And I'm interested in a gig on the evening of Friday July 30 in Dallas. Because I'll be traveling the whole way from Oxford on Friday, I won't be able to do a clinic in Dallas. But I'd welcome a one-set opener as a one-man band somewhere.

Great news, Adam! I'm sure HOOT will spread the word about the H-Town visit, but we'll send out a blurb as well.

Hey guys, Sonny Boy Terry here. Adam, thanks again for coming to Houston. We be able to accomodate 60 people for the clinic and 150 or more for the show. I encourage folks from all over the region to attend. Houston is a wonderful blues town with a great history and a fast developing harmonica community. Looking forward to making legendary Houston harp players Billy Bizor and Juke Boy Bonner proud with a great day of blues harmonica. This is a great ticket with a fabulous bunch of guys.

Please get ready to welcome, New York City blues-bred, now residing in Oxford, Mississippi, famed blues harmonica king/street musician/author/ educator Adam Gussow to Texas for The Down Home Texas Blues Harmonica Festival/Harmonica Clinic. I will have artwork/ and posters in 30 days or so. Yes, that means Adam can be made an honorary Texas bluesman. We may even get him a cowboy hat. Official Press Release is forthcoming. Still tweaking a few things. Rough layout for the day is:

Yahooo! This will be a great Saturday--especially since it is so close to home for me. Sonny Boy Terry and Dave Nevling are two of the best darned harp guys in Texas and they'll bring it. Rob Roy can get that roadhouse rumble happening and always puts on a fantastic show. I'm really looking forward to your clinic, Adam--not to mention your performance. Glad that this has come together!

Mr. Gussow,

if you can't find a gig when you are passing through Dallas (and I am looking around the places I know for you), I would love to book a private lesson. I'll pay double your regular rate if that makes it worth your while.

Cheers!

I've passed the word on to Gary Johnson, the head guy of Houston's H.O.O.T. and he already forwarded an email. Everyone is getting excited. All the players are great guys and real approachable, down home fellas, hence the name.
