Son of Dave showcases tracks from his new album, Shake A Bone alongside live favourites at an exclusive live online show at London’s prestigious Roundhouse venue as part of their new Blackbox series of broadcasts live from the venue in Camden.
Since it's live, technically we will all be watching it at the same time relative to the international dateline. Kind of like those live concerts at the Green Parrot by our friend Jason. ---------- Brandon Bailey
It was a very short performance. Only two of the songs (Shake a Bone and Danced All Night) were new. I was using good quality ear plugs, so sound was ok for me. Could have been louder though.
I think that the side show was an interesting bit of scenery. Overall, the main hook for me was that fact that it was live.
Gear note: It seems that son of dave has swiched from using the sm57 to using the Shure 545S model. That the pistol grip version of the famouse "Butterfield" mic. Also, in the last few months, Son of Dave has been using the Sansamp Bassdriver DI, which I saw a shot of in this video. Very cool gear. ---------- Brandon Bailey
I got 2 songs and then it timed out this end is that what it was supposed to do? I was dissapointed with the volume level but was still interesting to watch. Brandon I will post those vid shortly, just for you bro Russ ---------- Oxharp
So I couldn't get anything here--so I went and listened and watched everything I could get on YT--this guy is seriously great at what he does.
Brandon--I saw your post about his gear--could you break down just what his hook-up is? I'm especially enamored with the looper--do you know what it is? I'm an idiot about this electronic stuff--but I think I'll be getting into it as I can afford the gear. . .
I tried using my DVD recorder with my computer but everything went wrong. I messed with it during the first few songs thinking it would run an hour and I'd get the bugs worked out but by the time I figured it out it was over. ---------- Ozark Rich
@oldwailer Son of Dave uses an Akai Headrush E2 looper pedal along with a Boss OC-2 Octave Pedal. He is also splitting the output signal from the Akai through a Sansamp Bassdriver DI to booth his amp and to the sound board. ---------- Brandon Bailey
