----------I am a naive player electronically but thought I read recently that I could take my Kaly 2: plug my mike into input 1 and a cable between input 2 and the input of another amp which would blast me through both amps. I tried it and it works. Is it safe? Is this input to input cabling without a Y cable or matching(?) box of some type. Can this cabling between inputs be used between any two amps this way or does the Kaly have it set up for such coupling? I'm trying for some different options for my next gig friday night. Thanks. d Myspace: dennis moriarty

If you are not noticing any drop off in overdriving the tubes your Mic is strong enough to be split, in truth most CM elements are. But that is where you would notice a drop off, the signal going to both amps. To explain a little further if usually the Kali has a real nice smooth strong "bluesy" distortion, especially in the bass and you are not getting it then you may have to pre amp the mic. If not play it Man!! ----------

Yes. Your amp with be safe. Daisy chaining amps in such a manner is a fairly common method to get that twin attack happening.

Dennis, I answered over on the Weber forum but here it is again for the benefit of those who don't watch that one....
When you connect using the second input jack of the Kalamazoo you are actually lowering the impedance your microphone sees even more than a Y-cable will. It is not the optimal solution. As Goose pointed out this will be much more noticeable if you use a crystal element than if you use a dynamic one. A Y-cable is better. An active A/B/Y box is better still as it buffers the input from the output, and so the input impedance is probably even higher than jack 1 on the 'Zoo. Another alternative is a line-out. I install a line-out circuit in the Kalamazoo as an option - it is driven from the speaker/output transformer so it has pretty much the same tone as the amp itself - it works great into another Kalamazoo, or into another amp, or the PA. ---------- /Greg
