It looks pretty good. Of course, there is always the old standby, the Shure SM57, but there are probably better mics out there now.

Scrapboss, can you tell me why you are going with a 545 instead of a 57?
what is the difference in performance for these mics? any help would be appreciated.
thanks

I'm using the e609 after a recommendation of a harp playing friend and am totally happy with it as an amp mic. Lies flat on the grill of the amp and transfers exactly what the amp is putting out without any coloration added.
I tried a few others (sm57 and RE10) which were fine but this is so much easier to set up - no stand or boom to fuss with. Just plug in, drape over the amp at your desired spot. I put a dot on my grill so I knew where I wanted the mic so it was quick to place and it stays there.

I use the e906 which is the expensive one...I love it. the 57 works great and makes a great back up mic for me, BUT I have to use a mic stand for it. The Sennheiser sounds great and let's me just drape the mic. I used it in studio too.
I think you'd like the e609 for its price and ease of use. ---------- Mike Fugazzi http://www.myspace.com/niterailband http://www.youtube.com/user/NiteRail http://www.twitter.com/NiteRail http://www.facebook.com/mike.fugazzi

I picked up a Peavey PVM 325 on e-bay very cheap. I does a fantastic job, however I do put it on a short stand. I was draping a 57 over the top before.....this does a much better job. ---------- Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. I had an Allen Old Flame...then I ran it side by side with a HarpGear Double Trouble, sold it and bought the DT.
