I'm looking for any advice for rigging up two amps
My normal gigging amp is a Marble Max - great sound, but needs to be mic'ed or the line out used for all but the smallest gigs.
As we don't usually use a soundguy, I don't like using the p.a. as, short of wandering out front every once in a while, I'm never 100% sure of the balance - and we have quite a range in volume.
So I'm experimenting with running the Max line-out into my Fender Blues Junior. Last Friday I got quite a good sound, and I was more comfortable being able to balance against the guitarist's volume.
I set the Blues Jnr to very low gain/higher volume, as I guessed that would give me the most Marble sound, but still would like more of that flavour.
Any tips here? Short of buying another Marble Max that is
Should impedance be better matched?
From the website it seems that the Max has powersoak circuitry enabling the amp to sound without speaker load, so perhaps it's as good as can be with the Blues Jnr
Also I think I've got 12Y7s in the Fender btw

Nope, that's the best way I've heard to use a line out at least you have an amp speaker as an output. As far as micing amps it don't take much. rule of thumb for me was if I'm setting my vocal mic at 6 the amp mic was at 3.5-4 all you are trying to do is get it out more in the room mix ---------- The Original Downtown Philadelphia Fatman... GH reading back over I realize you were not using a load on 1 amp. You should NEVER drive an amp with out the speaker load I don't care what kind of circuit it is. I forget what it's called but they make a contraption to simulate the speaker load to an amp for that purpose. pushing an amp without a speaker load is the #1 easiest way to blow a transformer ---------- The Original Downtown Philadelphia Fatman... Gambler, I run 2 amps. Some times I use them at the same time and other times I use either A or B. I call them a clean and a dirty amp. I use a Morley pedal to split the signal from one mic. to the amps. I tend to like the clean amp not as loud as the dirty tube amp when joined A&B. It produces a fuller dirty sound to me. I just use the clean amp for country or 50's songs. I have bridged the clean channel and the dirty harp channel on my customized Layfette harp amp. with a Y splitter. The amp man modifyed one channel of the tube amp for harp but left the 2nd channel for guitar. Works great but I still use the Morley and one Mic. Mike:)
