Here's a guy who falls below the radar: Wallace Coleman, longtime sideman for Robert Jr. Lockwood. He does a nice mellow version of "Juke":

Here's another. Scroll to the point where the music starts. He's a good singer, too. In fact, I'd love to play the audio of this performance for somebody and see if they could guess who they were hearing. Could ANYBODY on this forum have guessed? Be honest:

I'm familiar with Wallace Coleman, but I wouldn't have guessed it was him.

In 2007, I went to Chicago for the Chicago Blues Festival. I saw a guy named Reginald Cooper. He's a fine harp player and a very nice singer. No matter how much a person digs into the music, there will always be new players coming onto the scene.

Wallace Coleman has been on the Cleveland area blues scene for quite some time. I have a couple of his cds and they can be ordered from www.wallacecoleman.com
I became aware of him when he was featured on the old late night music show hosted by David Sanborn (name of the show eludes me right now). He always featured some great blues. First time I saw Sonny Boy Williamson II was on his show. Coleman backed Robert Jr. on a set of really tasty stuff.

Like Joe, I'm also familiar with Wallace Coleman. I really like him. It's just good honest no frills blues, which is why it appeals to me enormously.
